Iranian authorities execute four prisoners, including a woman, in multiple prisons

Iranian authorities have executed four prisoners, including a woman, in the prisons of Zanjan, Taybad, and Yazd. The individuals were identified as Gowhar Taheri-Aghdam, Ahmad Alipour, Rostam Shekarollahi, and Mohsen Amiri. They had previously been convicted in separate cases on charges of drug-related offenses and premeditated murder.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, September 4, 2025, the execution of 34-year-old Mohsen Amiri was carried out in Yazd Central Prison. Amiri, a father of one from Bafq in Yazd Province, had been arrested three years earlier on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, two other executions were carried out in Zanjan Central Prison. The prisoners were identified as 52-year-old Gowhar Taheri-Aghdam, a Turkish woman from Zanjan, and 29-year-old Ahmad Alipour from Karaj. Taheri-Aghdam had been arrested six years ago on charges of murdering her husband, while Alipour had been arrested five years earlier on charges of murder during a street altercation. Both were sentenced to death by the judiciary.

Separately, at dawn on Sunday, August 31, 2025, 30-year-old Rostam Shekarollahi was executed in Taybad Prison, Razavi Khorasan Province. Shekarollahi had been arrested four years earlier on drug-related charges and sentenced to death.

The executions of these prisoners have not been reported by Iranian state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
