Iranian forces open fire at Yarsan sacred site in Dalahu

Security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran raided the Tekyeh Heydari in Dalahu, a sacred site for Kurdish followers of the Yarsan faith, and opened fire during the operation.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iranian security forces entered the Tekyeh Heydari religious complex in the village of Tovishami in Dalahu County, sparking protests by local Kurdish Yarsan residents. The raid took place on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Sources reported that the forces claimed to have entered the site under the pretext of “pursuing a kolbar” (cross-border porter).
The incident has been described as an attack on a sacred site and a violation of the rights of the Kurdish Yarsan minority, drawing strong reactions from residents of Tovishami as well as civil and religious activists.
