Intelligence forces arrest Zilan Kamangar in Kamyaran

Zilan Kamangar, a Kurdish woman from Kamyaran, has been arrested by Iranian security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, agents of the Ministry of Intelligence arrested Zilan Kamangar, a women’s rights activist on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at her family home in the Kamyaran.
Informed sources reported that the arrest was carried out without a warrant, following a raid on the family residence by intelligence forces. After searching the house, the agents confiscated the mobile phones of Kamangar and her family members.
Hussein Kamangar, Zilan’s father, was released from Sanandaj Central Prison in February 2022 after serving a three-year prison sentence.
No information is available regarding the reasons for Zilan Kamangar’s arrest, the charges against her, or her current whereabouts.
