Faramarz Se-Dehi, poet from Behbahan, sentenced to one year in prison

Faramarz Se-Dehi, a poet from Behbahan in Khuzestan Province and a member of the Iranian Writers’ Association, has been sentenced to one year in prison by the Iranian judiciary.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 104 of the Criminal Court Two in Behbahan convicted Se-Dehi on charges of “insulting sacred values” and handed down a one-year prison sentence.

Earlier this year, Se-Dehi was also sentenced to more than 22 months in prison in a separate case by Branch 1 of the Mahshahr Revolutionary Court.

The poet and literary activist has previously been targeted, prosecuted, and tried by the Iranian authorities for his cultural and artistic work.
