Eight prisoners, including three Gilaks and one Afghan national, executed in prisons across Iran

The death sentences of eight prisoners — including three Gilak men and one Afghan national — were carried out in the prisons of Isfahan, Semnan, Shiraz, Rasht, and Taybad. The executed prisoners were identified as Abolfazl Lerni, Ahmad Arzani, Mozaffar Doroudi, Nour Mohammad Naseri, Jafar Pourvardi, Heydar Rezaipour, Houshang Rahmantalab, and Fahim Ahmadi. All had been convicted on charges of premeditated murder or drug-related offenses.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, October 6, 2025, Abolfazl Lerni and Ahmad Arzani, both from Isfahan, were executed in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan, after being convicted on drug-related charges.
On the morning of Sunday, October 5, 2025, Mozaffar Doroudi, approximately 30 years old and from Semnan, was executed in Semnan Central Prison. He had been arrested four years earlier for murder during a street altercation.
That same day, the execution of Nour Mohammad Naseri, convicted on drug-related charges, was carried out in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.
Earlier, at dawn on Wednesday, September 29, 2025, three Gilak prisoners — Jafar Pourvardi (35, from Amol), Heydar Rezaipour (40, from Rasht), and Houshang Rahmantalab (46, from Rasht) — were executed in Rasht Central Prison. Pourvardi had been imprisoned for six years, while Rezaipour and Rahmantalab had been detained for four years. All three had been convicted of murder, including one case stemming from a workplace dispute.
Additionally, on the morning of Sunday, September 21, 2025, Fahim Ahmadi, an Afghan national, was executed in Taybad Prison, Razavi Khorasan Province. He had been arrested four years earlier on drug-related charges.
None of these executions have been announced by Iranian state media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
