Five prisoners executed across Iran amid continued surge in death sentences

The Iranian authorities have executed five prisoners convicted on charges of premeditated murder and drug-related offenses in the prisons of Bam, Maragheh, Qom, Isfahan, and Saveh. The executed prisoners were identified as Mohammad Sabeki, Ebrahim Rezapour, Farzad (last name unknown), Rahim Tavakoli, and Abolfazl Hosseini.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mohammad Sabeki, 35, a Baloch man from Rigan in Kerman Province and father of two, was executed at dawn in Bam Central Prison. He had been arrested six years earlier on a murder charge and sentenced to death. The execution took place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

On the same day, Ebrahim Rezapour, 38, from Maragheh, was executed in Maragheh Central Prison. According to Iran Human Rights, he was arrested five years ago following a street altercation and later convicted of murder.

That morning, Farzad, whose family name remains unknown, was executed in Qom Central Prison after being convicted on drug-related charges.

Separately, at dawn on Monday, October 6, Rahim Tavakoli, 34, from Quchan in Razavi Khorasan Province and father of one, was executed in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd). His execution brought the total number of prisoners executed in that facility on the same day to three.

Also on Monday, Abolfazl Hosseini, 48, from Saveh, was executed in Saveh Central Prison. He had been arrested three years earlier on a murder charge following a street fight and later sentenced to death.

The executions have not been reported by state media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
