Kurdish man Hassan Mehrabi arrested following deceptive summons by local authorities in Marivan

Hassan Mehrabi, a Kurdish man from Marivan, was arrested by Iranian security forces after responding to a deceptive summons issued by the county governor’s office, which had been used as a pretext to facilitate his arrest.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Hassan Mehrabi, a resident of the village of Ney in Marivan, was arrested by security forces.

Sources informed Hengaw that Mehrabi had been contacted by the governor’s office under the pretext of “following up on subsidy-related matters.” Upon arriving in Marivan, he was detained in one of the city’s main squares.

Following his arrest, Mehrabi was transferred to an undisclosed location.
No information has been made available regarding the reasons for his detention, his whereabouts, or the charges brought against him.
