Abbas Daghagheleh, a 22-year-old Arab protest rapper from Ahvaz, has been arrested by Iranian security forces for producing and publishing politically and socially critical works. He has since been transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Daghagheleh was arrested on Friday, October 10, 2025, after security forces raided his home in Ahvaz, confiscating his mobile phone and music recording equipment.

Shortly after his arrest, his official Instagram page was taken down, under pressure from security agencies.

Daghagheleh’s music and lyrics frequently address issues such as systemic discrimination, racism, and the marginalization of the Arabs population in Iran, themes that have made him a prominent voice of cultural and political dissent in Khuzestan Province.
