Asmar Hamidi, Kurdish singer from Khorasan, arrested by security forces

Security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have arrested Asmar Hamidi, a young Kurdish singer and cultural activist from Maneh and Samalqan in North Khorasan Province.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hamidi was arrested during a raid on her home on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Following her arrest, Hamidi was taken to an unknown location, and her Instagram page was blocked by security agencies.
Hamidi is known as one of the young Kurdish musicians in Khorasan and is active in cultural work. She had previously been summoned by security agencies over her civil activities, participation in cultural events, and expression of critical views.
No information has been made available regarding the reasons for her arrest or the charges brought against her.
