Iran has executed five prisoners — including two Kurdish men from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq — in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd). All had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

Sources told Hengaw that Shamal Mohammad Rashid and Ardalan Hossein Ali, both Kurdish men from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and relatives, were arrested three years ago on charges of drug transportation.

Shahab Mokhtari had been detained for around four years; Abolfazl Ghaderzadeh, 29, from Isfahan, for three years; and Meysam Panahi, 37, a father of one, for two years.
All were charged with drug-related offenses prior to receiving death sentences.

None of the executions have been reported by Iranian state media or outlets aligned with the judiciary.
