Five more lives lost in Arak protests identified

Five individuals were killed by Iranian government forces during recent protests in the city of Arak, according to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
Babak Jamali, a resident of Arak and the father of two children, was killed by Iranian government forces during protests in the city on the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026.
Esmaeil Ganjgoli, also from Arak, was killed by Iranian government forces during protests in the city on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Arman Hajiyousefi, a young man from Arak, was killed by Iranian government forces during protests in the city on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Ahmad Anjafi, an athlete from Arak, was killed by Iranian government forces during protests in the city on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Earlier, Ermia Fazli, aged 20 and from Arak, was killed by Iranian government forces after being shot during protests on Malek Street in the city on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
According to informed sources, all five individuals were killed by live ammunition fired by Iranian government forces. Their bodies were later returned to their families, and all five were buried in Arak.
