Three members of one family, including a minor, detained in Bukan; Fate unknown

Three members of a Kurdish family from Bukan, including a 17-year-old minor, have been arbitrarily detained by Iranian government forces for more than a week, with no information available regarding their whereabouts or condition.

The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has identified the detainees as Sardar Shahmohammadi, 17, his brother Mohammad Shahmohammadi, 18, and their father Rahim Shahmohammadi, all residents of Bukan.

The three were arrested on Monday, January 19, 2026, without the presentation of a court warrant, and were taken to an undisclosed location.

Since their arrest, all attempts by family members to obtain information about their fate, legal status, charges, or place of detention have been unsuccessful.
