Three Kurdish women from Kangavar County in Kermanshah (Kermashan) Province have been arrested by government forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Shahriar, Tehran. The detainees—Elahe Khazaei, Setayesh Khazaei, and Nazanin Khazaei—are relatives of Erfan Khazaei, one of those killed during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Setayesh Khazaei (18), Nazanin Khazaei (19), and Elahe Khazaei were detained on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Sources report that the Khazaei family’s efforts to obtain information about the women’s condition, whereabouts, and legal status have so far been unsuccessful, raising serious concerns about their safety.
Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for the arrests or any charges against the three women.
