December Protests – Nine Kurds arrested in Qasr-e Shirin

Amid the continuing wave of arrests linked to the December protests, nine Kurdish residents of Qasr-e Shirin, in Kermanshah Province, were arrested by Iranian government forces and transferred to undisclosed locations.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has confirmed the identities of the detainees as Farid Mardani, Fardin Mardani, Matin Fattahi, Arash Moradi, Sajad Moradi, Milad Moradian, Ehsan Karami, Sina Gohari, and Vahid Shadman.

Hengaw confirmed that the nine individuals, including brothers Farid and Fardin Mardani, were arrested by government forces on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Among those detained is Vahid Shadman, a photographer and head of the Qasr-e Shirin Photographers Association.

Informed sources told Hengaw that the arrests were carried out violently and without the presentation of warrants.

All detainees were transferred to undisclosed locations, and no information has been released regarding their whereabouts, legal status, or condition.
