Hengaw – Monday, January 12, 2026

Amirali Heidari, a 17-year-old Kurdish boy from Kermanshah, was killed by direct gunfire from Iranian government forces during recent protests in the city. Iranian authorities have pressured his family to describe his death as the result of a fall from height.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Amirali was shot dead by government forces on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026.

A source close to the family told Hengaw that a bullet fired from a Kalashnikov rifle struck Amirali near the heart on Kashani Street in the Elahiyeh neighborhood of Kermanshah, causing his death.

The source added that Amirali’s body was released to his family only after the payment of one billion tomans. During his burial ceremony at the Tuh-Lali village cemetery, at least one attendee who chanted protest slogans was violently arrested by government forces.

Hengaw has learned that the official forensic death certificate makes no reference to gunshot wounds and instead falsely lists the cause of death as a fall from height.
