Hengaw – Thursday, February 19, 2026

Four Kurdish residents of Saqqez — Sediq Yousefpour, Hiwa Tataei, Hemin Hosseini, and Hamed Delavari — remain in detention weeks after their arrests, as authorities have extended their detention orders without providing clear information about their legal status or whereabouts.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hiwa Tataei and Hamed Delavari have been held for 33 days, Hemin Hosseini for approximately one month, and Sediq Yousefpour for 29 days. Throughout this period, no transparent information has been provided regarding their condition or the facilities where they are being held.

Officials from the Saqqez Intelligence Office have informed families that the detention orders have been extended and that interrogations are ongoing. However, no formal charges or legal proceedings have been publicly disclosed.

Sources close to the families report continued uncertainty over whether the four men are being held in detention facilities in Saqqez or have been transferred to Sanandaj. Repeated inquiries by their families to judicial and security authorities in both cities have gone unanswered.

Hiwa Tataei and Hemin Hosseini had previously been arrested during the mass detentions carried out on the first anniversary of the extrajudicial killing of Jina Amini.
