At least seven Kurds, including a child, arrested in the cities of Kamyaran, Sanandaj, Sirvan, Ilam, Kermanshah, Bijar, and Tehran

At least seven Kurds, including a 15-year-old child, have been arrested in recent weeks amid ongoing security crackdowns in several Iranian cities, according to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.

The individuals have been identified as Rashid Allahbakhshi, Karo Menbari, Mohammad Hossein Baralak, Saber Kakayi, Parsa Hemmati, Mehrdad Davoudpour, and Saeid Piri. Further details, organized by location and presented chronologically, are as follows:

Kamyaran, Sanandaj, and Bijar

Rashid Allahbakhshi, a Kurdish man from Kamyaran, was arrested during a warrantless raid by government forces carried out in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, and was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location. No information has been released regarding the charges against him.

Karo Menbari, a Kurdish man from the village of Niyer, a suburb of Sanandaj, was arrested at around 8:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, by agents of the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran and taken to an undisclosed location.

Mehrdad Davoudpour, a 30-year-old Kurdish man from Bijar and an electrical engineer, was arrested during protests in the city on January 8, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location. No further information has since been made available regarding his fate.

Sirvan and Ilam

Mohammad Hossein Baralak, a Kurdish man from the city of Lumar in the central district of Sirvan County, Ilam Province, was arrested by government forces on Sunday, January 25, 2026. His whereabouts remain unknown.

Saber Kakayi, a Kurdish man from Karzan, Ilam, was detained during protests in the city on Friday, January 10, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location. No information has been released about his condition or whereabouts.

Kermanshah

Parsa Hemmati, a 15-year-old Kurdish child from Kermanshah, was arrested during public protests in the city on Thursday, January 9, 2026, and taken to an undisclosed location. His fate remains unknown.

Tehran

Saeid Piri, a Kurdish man from Abdanan, was arrested during public protests in the Haft-Hoz area of Narmak, Tehran, on Wednesday, January 8, 2026, and transferred to one of Tehran’s security detention centers. According to reports received by Hengaw, he was subjected to severe physical torture for at least ten days, resulting in fractured ribs and the loss of two teeth. Despite his critical condition and serious injuries, he has been denied access to medical treatment.
