Twelve arrested across Ilam Province; fate unknown

At least twelve people, including eleven Kurds and one Lor, have been arrested by Iranian government forces across several cities in Ilam Province over the past month. The arrests took place in Ilam, Dehloran, Darreh Shahr, Karzan, Lumar, and Abdanan, and the fate and legal status of those detained remain unknown.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the detainees include five residents of Ilam, two from Abdanan, two from Lumar, and one person each from Dehloran, Darreh Shahr, and Karzan. With the exception of Mohammadamin Safari, who is Lor, all others are reported to be Kurdish.
Arrests in Ilam
Five residents of Ilam have been arrested by Iranian government forces, and no information is available regarding their whereabouts or legal status. Government forces detained Mehdi Kasaei, 19, and Meraj Shirkhani, 20, on January 9, 2026. Nima Korkhi, 18, was arrested on January 13, 2026, followed by the arrests of Hamid Larti and Behrouz Basreh, 19, on January 15, 2026.
Arrests in Abdanan
Farzad Moradi, a Kurdish resident of Abdanan, was arrested by government forces on January 8, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location. In a separate case, Mohammadamin Safari, a Lor resident of the same city, was detained on February 2, 2026. No information has been released about the status of either detainee.
Arrests in Lumar
Two residents of Lumar in Sirvan County — Behzad Valadbeigi, 19, and Behrouz Valadbeigi — were arrested by government forces and transferred to undisclosed locations, with the arrests carried out on February 2, 2026, and January 30, 2026, respectively.
Arrests in Dehloran and Darreh Shahr
Farshad Ateni, a resident of Dehloran, was arrested by government forces on February 3, 2026. In a separate incident, Mohammad Zeinivand, 37, from Darreh Shahr, was detained on January 16, 2026. No official information has been released regarding their situation.
Arrest in Karzan
Sohrab Alidousti, a resident of Karzan in Ilam Province, was arrested by government forces on January 24, 2026, and remains in detention under unclear conditions.
