Teacher Arman Shahpourikhou sentenced to two years in prison

Arman Shahpourikhou, a teacher from Izeh who was arrested during the recent protests, has been sentenced to two years in prison and handed additional penalties by the Iranian judiciary.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch One of the Revolutionary Court in Ahvaz convicted Arman Shahpourikhou on the charge of “disrupting public order and security.” On February 15, 2026, the court sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment, imposed a two-year travel ban prohibiting him from leaving Iran, and ordered one year of mandatory presence at the Office for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Izeh.
He was arrested on December 30, 2025, during protests in Izeh and transferred to Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz. He was later released on January 11, 2026, after posting bail set at 2 billion tomans.
