Four Kurds arrested in Quchan and Tehran, including a minor

At least four Kurds, including a 16-year-old boy, have been arrested by Iranian government forces in the cities of Quchan and Tehran. The detainees have been denied access to basic legal rights.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mohammadamin Maftouhi, a 16-year-old minor under the supervision of Iran’s State Welfare Organization and a resident of Quchan, was arrested by government forces on January 10, 2026. He was transferred to the Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center in Mashhad. Authorities have set bail at five billion tomans.
In a separate case, Mousa Rahmati, originally from Kalab village in Bojnurd and residing in Tehran, was arrested on January 8, 2026. He had been working as a motorcycle courier in the capital. No information has been released regarding his whereabouts or legal status. According to informed sources, Rahmati has lost both of his parents and currently has no one actively pursuing his case.
Majid Oghazi, an electrical engineer and wrestler from Quchan, was arrested on January 10, 2026. After completing interrogation procedures, he was transferred to Quchan Prison. Oghazi, who is married and the father of one child, was temporarily released on February 25, 2026, after 47 days in detention.
Additionally, Mehdi Gholizadeh, 25, also from Quchan, was arrested on January 8, 2026, with the use of force. Following interrogation at a security detention facility, he was transferred to Quchan Prison.
According to sources, all four individuals were denied fundamental rights during detention, including access to legal counsel and the ability to contact or meet with their families.
