At least five Kurds arrested across multiple cities

At least five Kurdish men have been arrested by Iranian government forces in the cities of Miandoab, Sonqor, Piranshahr, and Bojnurd, according to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
No reliable information has been released regarding their whereabouts or legal status.

The arrests have taken place over recent days and weeks amid the continuing wave of detentions targeting Kurds.

Details of their cases are as follows:

In Miandoab, Behzad Abedi, 25, a resident of Gavmish Goli village and father of one child, was arrested during a raid by government forces on his home in the early hours of February 9, 2026. According to an informed source, officers carried out the arrest without presenting a court warrant and confiscated the mobile phones of both Abdi and his family members.

Also in Miandoab, Anwar Choupani, 36, from Khankandi village, was arrested around 3:00 a.m. on February 9, 2026, when government forces raided his home without a warrant and used violence during the arrest. He was transferred to an undisclosed location.

In Sonqor, Kermanshah Province, Ali Shamayeli, a high school social sciences teacher, was arrested by government forces on February 9, 2026, while on his way to school. He was taken to an undisclosed location, and no further information has been released about his situation.

In Piranshahr, Fardin Seyyedeh was arrested without a warrant by government forces on February 2, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location. Sources say he was detained just two days after his wedding. His fate remains unknown.

In Bojnurd, Amirmohammad Sarafraz, a Kurdish resident of the city, was arrested during a warrantless raid on his home by government forces on January 12, 2026. More than four weeks after his arrest, no information has been provided about his place of detention or condition.
