Six Kurdish individuals, including two brothers, arrested in Qorveh

Iranian government forces have arrested six Kurdish individuals, including two brothers, in the city of Qorveh, Kurdistan Province, Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has learned.

Moslem Cheraghi, a 23-year-old resident of Qorveh, was arrested in front of his workplace, a belt-making shop on Imam Ali Boulevard, on February 14, 2026.

Majid Bagheri, another resident of Qorveh, was arrested on February 13, 2026, after security forces raided his family home in the Bouali Jonoubi neighborhood. Agents searched the house without presenting a warrant and confiscated personal belongings and the family vehicle before transferring him to an undisclosed location. Following the raid, his wife reportedly suffered a severe nervous shock and was taken to hospital.

Ali Bagheri, Majid’s brother, was arrested the same night after government forces raided the Sarab branch of Kurdistan Café. Agents forced customers to leave and interrogated staff before detaining him. No clear information has been released about the reasons for the arrest of the two brothers, any charges against them, or their place of detention, and the family’s efforts to obtain information have so far been unsuccessful.

Mousa Makhdoumi and Yousef Dehqani, two hospital staff members in Qorveh, were arrested during protests in the city and transferred to an undisclosed location. They remain in detention without clarification of their legal status. 

An informed source said their arrest followed their professional work providing emergency assistance and medical treatment to injured individuals. Despite the passage of time, judicial and security authorities have provided no explanation regarding their place of detention, any charges, or the status of their cases.

Anvar Alipanah, another resident of Qorveh, was arrested during the December protests and remains held in Qorveh Central Prison in a state of legal uncertainty. According to received reports, judicial and security authorities have refused to provide transparent information about his case proceedings or legal status.

No precise information is available about the charges against the detainees, and the current whereabouts of several of them remain unknown.
