Iranian authorities detain four medical workers amid recent protests

Iranian authorities have detained four medical workers, including three Kurdish individuals, in Oshnavieh (Shno), Qorveh, and Sabzevar amid the recent protests. Their fate remains unknown.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests were carried out in recent weeks in connection with the ongoing wave of detentions.

Oshnavieh (Shno)

Dr. Rebin Moloudi, a Kurdish dentist from Sardasht and resident of Oshnavieh (Shno), has been detained since Saturday, January 31, 2026. Authorities arrested him outside his dental clinic near Oshnavieh Hospital Square and transferred him to an undisclosed location. More than two weeks after his arrest, his current whereabouts, legal status, and any charges against him remain unknown.

Qorveh

Mousa Makhdoumi and Yousef Dehqani, two Kurdish hospital staff members in Qorveh, were arrested during the recent protests in the city and transferred to an undisclosed location. They remain in detention and in legal limbo. An informed source stated that the two were detained for carrying out their professional duties, including providing medical assistance and treating injured protesters. Judicial and security authorities have not disclosed their place of detention, any charges, or the status of their cases.

Sabzevar

Dr. Ali Rahimi, a dentist from Sabzevar, was arrested during the recent protests after security forces raided his clinic. Authorities transferred him to an undisclosed location. More than one month after his arrest, and despite repeated inquiries by his family, no information has been provided regarding his condition or fate, raising serious concern among relatives.
