Six Kurdish residents detained in recent arrests across Iran

Iranian authorities have detained six Kurdish residents in Oshnavieh (Shno), Tehran, Abdanan (Awdanan), Ilam, Darreh Shahr, and Sanandaj (Sine) over recent weeks as arrests continue across multiple regions.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests took place between January 10 and February 16, 2026.

Ilam Province

Abolfazl Rashidi, a young resident of Darreh Shahr in Ilam Province, was arrested on the evening of Sunday, February 15, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location. His current whereabouts, legal status, and any charges against him remain unknown.

Hassan Moradian, a young resident of Abdanan (Awdanan) and one of those injured during the recent protests, was arrested on Sunday, February 15, 2026. There are serious concerns regarding his health condition.

Hossein Mahmoudi, a resident of Ilam, was arrested on Thursday, January 15, 2026, after Iranian authorities raided his family home. He was reportedly beaten during the arrest and is under severe pressure to make a forced confession.

Oshnavieh (Shno)

Fakhraddin Baboli, a resident of Oshnavieh (Shno), was arrested on February 13, 2026, by Iranian authorities and transferred to an undisclosed location. His current whereabouts, legal status, and any charges against him remain unknown.

Tehran

Mehrdad Mohammadi, a Kurdish resident of Qaslan in Qorveh, was arrested on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at a fruit and vegetable market in Tehran. His place of detention and current condition remain unknown. His family has not been permitted to visit him.

Sanandaj (Sine)

Tareq Rahimpour, a 40-year-old Kurdish resident of the village of Oveheng in Sanandaj (Sine), was arrested on Monday, February 16, 2026, at his workplace by agents of the Intelligence Department and transferred to an undisclosed location. He has previously been detained and served a prison sentence.

Hengaw has learned that Rahimpour was released several hours later. However, Intelligence agents subsequently raided his home and confiscated his mobile phone and laptop, as well as electronic devices belonging to members of his family.
