Iranian law enforcement forces in the city of Fardis, Karaj, opened fire on a private vehicle carrying members of a family, killing two brothers identified as Ahmadreza Feizi, 15, and Amirhossein Feizi, 19. The two were originally from Asadabad in Hamadan Province and were shot after expressing joy over the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and honking their car horn.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the shooting took place on the evening of Wednesday, February 25, 2026, near the Fifth Roundabout in Fardis. Police fired live ammunition at the vehicle, which was carrying several members of the same family.
Sources familiar with the case told Hengaw that the two brothers were inside the car along with their father and two other individuals. They had reportedly honked the car horn to express joy following news of Khamenei’s death. After a verbal altercation between the father and one of the officers, police smashed the vehicle’s windows with the butt of a rifle. When the car began moving, officers opened fire from behind, spraying the vehicle with bullets.
During the shooting, Ahmadreza Feizi, 15, was struck by a bullet in the back and died at the scene. Amirhossein Feizi, 19, was hit in the side by a live round and was transferred to Resalat Clinic in Fardis, where he later died from severe injuries and heavy bleeding.
According to Hengaw sources, security agencies delayed the burial for several days before ultimately allowing the brothers to be buried under strict security measures on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Behesht-e Ali Cemetery in Eshtehard.
