Pregnant woman, her 4-year-old child, and husband killed in Marivan airstrikes

Three members of a family were killed when airstrikes targeted an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) site in the city of Marivan.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mitra Jalilavi, a 30-year-old pregnant woman from Ahvaz, her husband Farzad Bazargan, 34, from the village of Dari in Marivan, and their four-year-old child Karen Bazargan were killed on Monday, March 2, 2026, when Israeli and U.S. fighter jets struck the IRGC building in the city.
A source familiar with the incident told Hengaw that Jalilavi, who was in the ninth month of pregnancy, had been preparing to travel to a hospital in Sanandaj (Sine) for childbirth.
According to the source, the family’s home was located behind the IRGC garrison in Marivan. When the military facility was targeted, the force of the explosions struck nearby residential houses, killing the three family members inside their home.
Footage obtained by Hengaw from the scene showed extensive damage to surrounding residential buildings caused by the intensity of the blasts. Electricity in parts of Marivan was also cut following the strike.
