Kurdish man Vahab Hosseinzadeh arrested in Mahabad

A Kurdish man from Mahabad, identified as Vahab Hosseinzadeh, has been arrested by Iranian government forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrest took place in the early hours of Friday, March 20, 2026, in the city of Mahabad. Government forces detained the young man without presenting a warrant.

Informed sources stated that security forces raided the location and carried out the arrest during a search operation.

Despite repeated inquiries by Hosseinzadeh’s family, no information has been made available regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his current whereabouts.
