Bahman Modirzadeh, Qotur City Council member, arrested by IRGC Intelligence forces

Bahman Modirzadeh, a 39-year-old Kurdish member of the Qotur (Kotol) City Council in Khoy County, has been arrested by IRGC Intelligence forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, IRGC Intelligence forces arrested Modirzadeh on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, without presenting a warrant.

Five days after his arrest, repeated inquiries by his family and relatives regarding the reason for his arrest, the charges against him, and his place of detention have yielded no information.
