Mamosta Seyed Latif Sabri arrested by Iranian forces in Mahabad

Mamosta Seyed Latif Sabri, prayer leader at Shahrikandi Mosque in Mahabad, has been arrested by Iranian forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sabri was detained near Saat Square in Mahabad on the evening of Monday, August 10, 2026.

Informed sources said the forces arrived at the scene in six vehicles before taking him into custody.

His family’s efforts to obtain information about his condition and whereabouts have so far been unsuccessful.

Authorities have not disclosed the reason for his arrest, the charges against him, his place of detention, or his current condition.
