Baha’i adherent Shayan Abadi arrested in Kerman, whereabouts unknown

Amid the ongoing wave of arrests targeting Baha’i adherents, Shayan Abadi, a resident of Kerman, has been arrested by Iranian government forces in the city and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, agents of the Ministry of Intelligence arrested Abadi, 31, at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2026, without presenting an arrest warrant.

No precise information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his place of detention.

Efforts by his family to obtain information about his fate have so far been unsuccessful.
