Christian convert Mohammad Nikbakht remains in legal limbo in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan

More than ten days after his arrest, Mohammad Nikbakht, a Christian convert from Isfahan, remains in legal limbo in Dastgerd Prison in the city, with no clear information about his legal status or the charges against him.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Nikbakht was arrested by Iranian security forces on Saturday, March 14, 2026, and was subsequently transferred to Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.

Informed sources stated that government forces used severe violence during his arrest. He is currently being held in Ward 2-A of Dastgerd Prison, a security ward controlled by the Ministry of Intelligence, where he remains under interrogation.

Despite repeated follow-ups by Nikbakht’s family, authorities have not provided any precise information regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or the authority responsible for his detention.
