Iranian Intelligence arrest Mameh Alinejad in Mahabad; fate unknown

Iranian intelligence forces in the city of Mahabad have arrested a young Kurdish man, identified as Mameh Alinejad, at his workplace and transferred him to a detention facility in Urmia. His fate and current condition remain unknown.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, agents of the Intelligence Department in Mahabad arrested Mameh Alinejad, a 20-year-old Kurdish man, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
A knowledgeable source stated that government forces raided his fruit shop without presenting any warrant, and proceeded to detain him.
The source further reported:
“Following his arrest, intelligence forces also raided his family home, where they conducted a search and violently ransacked the property.”
Following his arrest, Mameh Alinejad was transferred to the Intelligence Department detention center in Urmia for interrogation.
