An Iranian court has sentenced Habib Mehri, a Turkish civil activist from Tabriz, to six months in prison.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mehri was recently sentenced by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz to six months of discretionary imprisonment on charges of “propaganda against the state.”
Government forces violently raided Mehri’s home in Tabriz in November 2025 and arrested him during the operation. The agents also searched the residence and confiscated several personal belongings, including his mobile phone.
Following interrogations at a security detention facility in Tabriz, Mehri was temporarily released on bail pending the conclusion of judicial proceedings.
