Reza Koushkinezhad sentenced to prison, internal exile and ideological supplementary punishment

Reza Koushkinezhad, a Lor man from Pol-e Dokhtar who had previously been detained for a period last autumn, has been sentenced by the Iranian judiciary to prison, internal exile and an ideological supplementary punishment.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Reza Koushkinezhad, 36, was recently sentenced by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Khorramabad to one year in prison and two years of forced internal exile to the city of Birjand in South Khorasan province on charges including “propaganda against the state” and “inciting people to disrupt public security in cyberspace through publishing images and content deemed contrary to public morality.”
In addition, the Revolutionary Court imposed a supplementary punishment requiring him to “study and review documents related to the records of SAVAK and submit a handwritten report to the Enforcement Branch of Khorramabad.”
The verdict was issued on May 2, 2026, and officially communicated to him. The court session in this case had previously been held on April 30, 2026, in the same branch.
Reza Koushkinezhad was initially arrested by Iranian government forces in early October 2025 and was temporarily released from Khorramabad Central Prison on October 7, 2025.
Koushkinezhad had also previously been arrested and sentenced to imprisonment during the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement.
