Iranian authorities sentence Rana Korkor, sister of executed political prisoner, to three years in prison

Iranian authorities have sentenced Rana Korkor, a member of the justice-seeking families and sister of executed political prisoner Mojahed Korkor, to three years in prison and summoned her to serve the sentence.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Korkor announced on Thursday, September 25, 2025, that she had reported to begin serving her sentence.

She was previously arrested on July 4, 2024, at her home in Tehran by security forces and released one month later on bail.

Mojahed Korkor, arrested during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) uprising, was executed at dawn on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in Sheyban Prison in Ahvaz after 904 days in detention.
