67-year-old Asti Mohammadi held incommunicado 10 days after arrest in Bukan

Iranian authorities continue to hold Asti Mohammadi, a 67-year-old Kurdish woman from Bukan, in complete isolation 10 days after her arrest, while refusing to provide any information regarding her whereabouts, health condition, or the charges against her.
Based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Department forces raided Mohammadi’s family home in Bukan on the evening of Monday, May 11, 2026, and arrested her without presenting any warrant.
Sources familiar with the case stated that security forces thoroughly searched the house during the raid and confiscated several personal belongings, including her mobile phone, family photo albums, and a number of books.
Hengaw has learned that Mohammadi was transferred to an Intelligence Department detention facility in Urmia for interrogation following her arrest. During the past 10 days, she has been denied any phone contact with her family, in-person visits, and access to a lawyer of her choosing.
Her current whereabouts, legal status, and any charges against her remain unknown.
