Kurdish woman Mona Maleki, 27, from Sanandaj, has been detained by forces of Iran's Intelligence Ministry and transferred to solitary confinement in the women's ward of Sanandaj Central Prison, which Iranian state media refer to as the "Sanandaj Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center."

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Ministry forces raided Maleki's family home in Sanandaj on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, without presenting a warrant and arrested her.

Hengaw has learned that she was taken directly to solitary confinement in the women's ward of Sanandaj Central Prison, where she remains under interrogation and security pressure.

More than a week after her arrest, Maleki remains deprived of access to a lawyer of her choosing, in-person family visits, and regular telephone contact with her family.

The reasons for her detention and any charges against her remain unknown.
