Kurdish prisoner Abdolghader Rasouli executed in Mahabad Central Prison

Iranian authorities have executed a Kurdish prisoner from Mahabad identified as Abdolghader Rasouli, who had previously been sentenced to death on drug-related charges.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution of Abdolghader Rasouli was carried out at dawn on Monday, May 25, 2026, in Mahabad Central Prison.

He had previously been convicted and sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses.

Hengaw has learned that Rasouli was granted a final visit with his family and children in Mahabad Central Prison on Sunday, May 24, one day before his execution.

The execution has not been officially announced by Iranian state media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
