Baha’i woman Romina Goli transferred to prison after interrogation in Sari

Romina Goli, a Baha’i woman from Sari, has been transferred to prison following her arrest by Iranian government forces and subsequent interrogation at the city’s prosecutor’s office.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Romina Goli appeared before the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Sari on Sunday, May 10, 2026. At the conclusion of the session, the investigating judge issued a one-month temporary detention order and transferred her to Sari Central Prison.
Government forces had arrested Goli a day earlier, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, during a raid on her home in Sari. Agents also searched the residence and confiscated personal digital devices along with religious books related to the Baha’i faith.
Sources familiar with the case told Hengaw that Goli was formally charged during the interrogation session with “propaganda against the state” and “engaging in propaganda activities contrary to Islamic law.”
