Forouzan Eslami, a Kurdish woman from Urmia, an English language teacher and director of the “Nojavan” language academy, has been arrested by Iranian government forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Eslami was arrested by Iranian government forces on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, and taken to an undisclosed location.

Sources told Hengaw that the arrest was carried out without the presentation of any warrant.

No precise information is available regarding the reasons for her arrest, the charges brought against her or her place of detention.
