Nazanin Salari, Mahmoud Taravatrooy, and Masoud Ahmadian, three lawyers and prominent advocates for women's and children's rights based in Shiraz, have each been sentenced to three years in prison, along with additional punitive measures, by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Salari, Taravatrooy, and Ahmadian were each sentenced to two years' imprisonment on the charge of "assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security" and one year on the charge of "propaganda against the state."

Under Article 134 of Iran's Islamic Penal Code governing the aggregation of sentences, only the most severe punishment—two years of discretionary imprisonment for each of the three lawyers—will be enforceable. Emtedad reported that the court also acquitted them of the charge of "cooperation with a hostile state."

In addition to the prison sentences, the court imposed supplementary punishments on all three lawyers, including a two-year ban on leaving the country and the revocation of their passports.

The three lawyers are also facing a parallel case before Branch 112 of Criminal Court Two in Shiraz on separate allegations, including "encouraging corruption and prostitution" and "appearing in public without the mandatory hijab." Judicial proceedings in that case remain ongoing.
