Masoumeh Janalizadeh remains in legal limbo nearly seven months after arrest

Masoumeh (Anahita) Janalizadeh, a resident of Tehran, remains held in the women's ward of Evin Prison nearly seven months after her arrest. Her legal status remains unresolved, and she continues to be detained without a final judicial decision.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Janalizadeh has remained in legal limbo for 209 days since her arrest and is still being held in Evin Prison without clarity regarding the status of her case.

She was transferred to the prison's women's ward on November 12, 2025, and has remained imprisoned there ever since without any judicial resolution.

According to informed sources, authorities have attributed certain political views to Janalizadeh in the case against her, including alleged support for groups opposed to the Islamic Republic.
