Intelligence Department arrests Sardar Ostadahmadi in Mahabad

Sardar Ostadahmadi, a Kurdish resident of Mahabad, was arrested by Iran's Intelligence Department and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the Intelligence Department raided Ostadahmadi's home on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, and arrested him without a warrant before transferring him to an undisclosed location.

Despite repeated inquiries by Ostadahmadi's family with judicial authorities and government institutions in Mahabad, officials have refused to provide any clear information regarding the reasons for his arrest, any charges against him, or his whereabouts. Their refusal has heightened concern among his family over his fate and well-being.
