Mamosta Abubakr Yousofi and Younes Mousapour violently arrested in Sardasht

Mamosta Abubakr Yousofi and Younes Mousapour, two Kurdish residents of the town of Nalas in Sardasht County, were violently arrested by agents of Iran's Intelligence Department and transferred to the agency's detention facility in Urmia amid the latest wave of arrests targeting Kurdish residents and activists.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Department agents simultaneously arrested Yousofi and Mousapour in Nalas on the evening of Sunday, July 5, 2026, without a warrant.
Sources told Hengaw that the agents used severe physical violence and subjected both men to degrading treatment during the arrests, heightening concern among their families.
Hengaw has learned that the two men were transferred directly from Sardasht to the Intelligence Department's central detention facility in Urmia, where they are being held for interrogation.
Four days after their arrest, the authorities have yet to disclose the reasons for their detention, any charges against them, or information about their condition. Judicial authorities have also refused to provide their families with any information regarding their whereabouts or status.
