Iranian security forces detain two Kurdish men in Mahabad

Iranian security forces have detained two Kurdish men, identified as Mostafa Ebrahimi and Kamal Piranpour, in the city of Mahabad, according to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
Their whereabouts remain unknown.
Mostafa Ebrahimi, 40, was detained on the evening of July 7, 2026, when forces from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ intelligence unit raided his family home without presenting a warrant.
Another Mahabad resident, 43-year-old Kamal Piranpour, was also detained by IRGC intelligence forces around the same time.
The reasons for their detention, any charges against them and their places of detention remain unknown. Jjudicial and security authorities in Mahabad had not provided their families with clear information about their cases.
