Maryam Davoudian sentenced to three months in prison

Maryam Davoudian, a 58-year-old Kurdish woman from Bukan, has been sentenced by the Iranian judiciary to three months of discretionary imprisonment.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 101 of the Criminal Court in Bukan sentenced Davoudian to three months of discretionary imprisonment, which was commuted to a fine of 93 million tomans.

Davoudian was arrested after appearing before the prosecutor's office in Bukan in response to a summons on Monday, April 20, 2026, and was subsequently transferred to a security detention facility in Urmia.

Iranian security forces had earlier raided Davoudian's family home without a warrant on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, searched the property, and confiscated her mobile phone. She was later summoned by security authorities on Saturday, April 18, and interrogated for several hours.

Davoudian was arrested despite suffering from diabetes, thalassemia, and rheumatoid arthritis. During her detention, she was denied access to her medication and adequate medical care.
