Farzin Khadiripour and Mohammad Watmani arrested in Mahabad, whereabouts unknown

Intelligence Department forces have arrested Farzin Khadiripour and Mohammad Watmani, two Kurdish men from Mahabad, in separate incidents and transferred them to undisclosed locations.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Department forces arrested Khadiripour, 26, at his workplace on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, without a warrant.

The forces also arrested Watmani, a 30-year-old engineer from Mahabad, outside the Mahabad Municipality building on Monday, August 17.

Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for their arrests, the charges against them, or their current whereabouts.
