Kurdish lawyer Razieh Hashemi arrested in Abdanan, whereabouts unknown

Razieh (Roya) Hashemi, a Kurdish lawyer from Abdanan in Ilam province, has been detained by Iranian security forces and taken to an undisclosed location. Her whereabouts and condition have remained unknown for three days.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hashemi, a licensed attorney, was arrested by Iranian security forces in Abdanan on August 27, 2026, without the presentation of a warrant and transferred to an undisclosed location.
Three days after her arrest, repeated inquiries by her family regarding her whereabouts and condition have yielded no information.
No information was available regarding the reasons for Hashemi’s arrest, the charges against her, her place of detention or her current condition.
