Labor and political activist Ebrahim Rahmanpour sentenced to prison

The Iranian judiciary has sentenced Ebrahim Rahmanpour, a Kurdish labor and political activist from Naqadeh, to 38 months and 15 days in prison.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, a judicial branch handed Rahmanpour the sentence in connection with his labor and political activities, including his participation in International Workers’ Day events in Naqadeh in previous years.

Rahmanpour has appealed the sentence, and his case remains under judicial review. No definitive information regarding the outcome of the appeal is currently available.
