Jamal Rostami, member of Kurdish charity foundation, arrested in Kamyaran

Iranian Intelligence Department forces arrested Jamal Rostami, a 57-year-old Kurdish man and member of the Shahini Charitable Foundation, during a raid on his family property in Shahini (Shayni) village, Kamyaran County, and took him to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Department forces raided Rostami's family property in Shahini village on the evening of Tuesday, August 4, 2026, and arrested him.

Rostami's arrest brings the number of founding members and activists affiliated with the Shahini Charitable Foundation detained by Iranian security agencies over the past two weeks to at least three.

In a related case, Intelligence Department forces arrested Esmail Khateri, a resident of Paveh originally from Shahini village, during a raid on his mother's home in the village on Friday, July 24, 2026.

Foad Shadi was also arrested on Saturday, July 25, 2026, by Iranian security forces without presenting a warrant and was taken to an undisclosed location.

Despite repeated inquiries by the families of the three men to security and judicial authorities in Kamyaran and Sanandaj, officials have provided no information regarding the reasons for their arrests, the charges against them, or their whereabouts.
